David M. Catalfamo is a 20 year veteran of New York State government with extensive experience working in both the legislative and executive branches.

Catalfamo joined Capitol Public Strategies after most recently serving as Director of Communications for former New York Governor George Pataki.

As Director of Communications, he was a senior advisor to the Governor on strategy, public policy, budgetary and political matters. He oversaw the State's crisis communications managing the response to numerous natural disasters, periods of elevated homeland security and the New York City transit strike.

Mr. Catalfamo is a skilled professional in state and local government matters, having served in a series of posts with the Pataki administration and the NYS Senate.

Most notably, in the aftermath of September 11th, as Senior Vice President at the Empire State Development Corporation, Mr. Catalfamo was primarily responsible for developing, negotiating and implementing the State's business and tourism recovery efforts. The initiatives ultimately delivered over one billion dollars of assistance to struggling Lower Manhattan businesses. In addition, he led the development of a residential stabilization program and an award winning I Love New York campaign that helped reinvigorate New York's tourism economy. Today Lower Manhattan is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in New York.

Mr. Catalfamo directed the state's business development efforts for over seven years, working with companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. He managed the States $30 million high tech venture fund and was Executive Director of the New York Science and Technology Foundation.

Catalfamo is a former a principal in the Dilenschneider Group, a renowned corporate communications firm servicing a wide range of Fortune 500 companies in the United States and abroad. He also currently serves as the Executive Director of the Lake Placid Regional Winter Sports Commission and is a Board member of the United Nations Development Corporation.
